UNDER-FLOOR

IMG_3001.jpg

Under floor heating provides heating in a room from the floor up for consistent and efficient warmth. Traditional radiators need to be heated to a high temperature (65-75 degrees) in order to be effective.

Under floor heating only needs to run at around 35-50 degrees (depending on floor finish) in order to warm the room. This means underfloor heating consumes less energy, keeping your energy bills far lower. This type of heating oppose to radiators on average can save you 15%  on heating bills.

Radiators heat the air nearest them first therefore leading to cold spots, meaning the air feels cold in the middle of the room and very hot next to the radiators. Underfloor heating provides from the floor up throughout the room giving a more even type of heat.

Underfloor heating doesn't make the room feel either too cold or even too hot, underfloor heating gives a constant heat throughout achieving the desired temperature set by using your thermostat.

Here at BB we love underfloor heating. There are many different ways to install an under-floor heating system and we are experts at them all.

Some people think their existing floor all needs to be ripped out. This is not always the case. One of the most popular system's used in the market today is called 'Overlay'. This involves the insulated under-floor heating boards being 'over-laid' on top of your existing SOfloor. With this system being only 15mm in depth, it not only means that you don't lose much room height, but it also saves you a lot of money as you don't have to remove your existing flooring. You can then add any type of finish such as carpet or tiling to your floor over the system after it is laid.

If you have a joisted wooden floor, we have a system for you. If you have a solid floor, we have a system for you. In a nutshell. We can design and  install a system you love that is tailor made to your requirements whether commercial or domestic. Send us a message to discuss your requirements.

Finally, underfloor heating is a more sustainable and green solution for

heating your rooms, reducing your households carbon footprint.

Underfloor heating is easier to install than you may think, suitable for new build projects and retro fitting.

Installing a new under-floor heating system will give you more space and design freedom as your wall space will be completely freed up. This liberates up to 10% wall and floor space that would usually be taken up by radiators. Underfloor heating works with all types of floor coverings from tile and stone to wood and laminate.
